Serving the residents of District 7 in the Chemung County Legislature has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Over the past four years, I have worked to represent our community with common sense, accountability, and a deep respect for the people who live here.
Mary and I have called the Town of Elmira home since 1974. We raised our four sons here, and today we are proud to watch our eight grandchildren grow up in this same community. For me, the future of Chemung County is not just a matter of public service — it is personal.
During my first term in the Legislature, I focused on the practical work of local government and the issues that matter most to residents of District 7. I was proud to help secure funding for improvements in our community, including security lighting at Pirozzolo Park, funding to support the repair of town equipment, and assistance for the installation of a new pool canopy so families and children can continue to enjoy our parks and recreation facilities.
I have also worked to promote accountability in county government. I voted against pay raises for County Legislators because I believe public service should always put taxpayers first. I also voted in favor of term limits for Chemung County government, because new ideas and responsible leadership are important for the long-term health of our community.
In addition to representing District 7 in the Legislature, I have served on several committees, including the Budget Committee, Highway Committee, Health & Human Services Committee, Aviation Committee, Building & Grounds Committee, and as Vice Chairman of the Environmental Management Committee. Through these roles, I have worked with my fellow legislators to support responsible county government and the services our residents depend on.
However, there is still work to be done. I believe strongly in supporting our fire and police departments, maintaining safe parks and public spaces, protecting our natural resources, and creating opportunities that encourage families and young people to build their futures here in Chemung County.
For these reasons, I have decided to run for re-election to serve one final four-year term representing District 7. My goal is to continue the work we have started while helping ensure that Chemung County remains a place where people are proud to live, work, and raise their families.
I remain committed to representing all residents of District 7, regardless of party affiliation, and to working cooperatively with others to move our community forward.
