As I complete my first term serving the residents of Chemung County, I remain committed to continuing the work of strengthening our community and building a brighter future for District 7.
I believe in responsible government and support reasonable term limits for legislators. Two four-year terms is an appropriate limit that encourages accountability while allowing new ideas and leadership to emerge.
Our government should reflect the community it serves. I want to continue working toward better representation for all members of our community, especially women and people of color.
Chemung County has tremendous potential, and one of our greatest untapped resources is the Chemung River waterfront. Promoting and developing the riverfront can bring new recreation, tourism, and economic opportunities to our region.
Supporting small businesses and continuing the revitalization of downtown Elmira are also essential priorities. Local entrepreneurs are the backbone of our economy, and a thriving downtown benefits everyone in Chemung County.
I strongly believe that progress happens when we work together. Regardless of political affiliation, collaboration and respect must guide our efforts to serve the people of this community.
Supporting the dedicated men and women of law enforcement and our fire departments in District 7 will always remain a priority. Their service ensures the safety and well-being of our residents.
Above all, cooperation and compromise are the keys to success in the Chemung County Legislature. By listening to one another and focusing on shared goals, we can continue building a stronger community for everyone.
